Makeup Policy FAQ
What Should I Do If I'm Going To Miss Class?
We offer unlimited make up classes if the absence is reported in the Parent Portal at least one hour before your class starts.
How to Submit A Future Absence:
- Log in to the Parent Portal.
- Navigate to the student within the family account.
- Click Future Absence Request.
- Choose one of the following options:
- By Date – Select a single date, a date range, or a partial day.
- By Enrollment – View the student’s class schedule and select the classes the student will miss.
- Click Submit to process your request.
After the absence is recored and the class is missed, a makeup token will be automatically added to your account. Makeup tokens are valid for 365 days and can be scheduled up to 6 days in advance through the Parent Portal.
Missed classes without prior notice will not receive a makeup token.
Tip: Reporting absences is fastest and easiest through the Swimming Safari mobile app.

How Do I Cancel a Future Absence?
If you submitted a future absence, but now plan to attend the class, you must cancel the absence in order to attend. To cancel the absence contact our Safari Guides.

How Do I Schedule a Makeup Class?
How To VideoIf you submitted the future absence at least one hour prior to class time, once the class is missed, a makeup token will be automatically added to your account. Makeups are scheduled through the Parent Portal and can be scheduled up to 6 days in advance.
How to Schedule a Makeup Token:
- Log into the Parent Portal
- Select Account and select your student
- Select Makeups
- Select Use Makeup Token
- Filter by your students level
- You can also filter by day/date
- Once you find the class that works best select Use Makeup Token
How Many Makeup Classes Do We Get?
We offer unlimited makeup classes for each absence that is reported ahead of time.
- Absences must be reported ahead of time (at least 1 hour before class)
- Absences are reported in the Parent Portal (website or app)
- Families receive unlimited makeup tokens
- When reported correctly, a makeup token is automatically added
- Makeup tokens are valid for 365 days
- Unreported absences do not receive a makeup token
- Makeup classes must be scheduled in the Parent Portal (website or app)
- Makeup classes can be scheduled up to 6 days in advance
- This policy is a trial through May 2026
